Fruit Kebabs with Honey Yogurt Dipping Sauce
February 24, 2010
It’s amazing how much nutritious food kids will eat when you put it on a stick and let them dip it in sauce.
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 2 Tbsp. honey, or to taste
- 3 cups fresh fruit such as melon, pineapple, strawberries and grapes, cut into bite-size chunks
Combine yogurt and honey in a small bowl and stir until smooth. Thread fruit onto 4 bamboo skewers and serve with yogurt mixture.

Mexican Pita Pizzas
February 23, 2010
Use whole-grain pitas and low-fat cheese for an even healthier version.
- 2 small pitas, split
- 1/4 cup tomato salsa
- 1/4 cup canned black beans, rinsed and drained
- 1/2 cup grated Monterey Jack cheese (1 oz.)
Heat broiler to high. Place pita halves, insides up, on a baking sheet. Spread 1 Tbsp. salsa on each pita half. Sprinkle each with 1 Tbsp. black beans and 2 Tbsp. cheese. Broil until cheese bubbles and edges of pitas are browned, about 1 minute.
